About Me

Nyoka, known to most as “Nyke” began cosmetology school at Visible Changes University in her hometown of Houston, Texas in February 1997.  After working as an employee in various salons after graduating she decided to become self-employed and in June of 2000 became the sole proprietor of “Divine Cre8ions” where personalized hair care and makeup is a priority.

Nyoka’s work has been featured in magazines such as “Black Hair Care” and “Essence Hot Hair” along with local hair magazines. She became a makeup artist for the well-known cosmetic line “M.A.C. Cosmetics” and since then she has done makeup for many projects which include (but are not limited to) a movie, fashion shows, fundraiser events, magazines, and more.  In 2006 she added Airbrush Makeup to her resume in which she received certification from celebrity makeup artist, Toni Acey .  Now in 2013 Nyoka is well on her way, educating others through her makeup classes, a makeup mentoring program and working with some of the best in the business.  While living in Maryland she’s worked with people such as Stacie Turner (Real housewives of DC), BET, & Linnyette Richardson-Hall (Who’s wedding is it anyway).
